Jazz Fest

Jazz Fest is one of the highlights of the springtime season. Free concerts by regional groups and artists held every year in conjunction with Arts Walk to local galleries. Maps are located at Performance Park. Performances usually take place between 12:30 and 5:00 p.m. right downtown in Performance Park, 417 W. Elkhorn Ave, Estes Park, CO. Estes Park Marathon. (Half Marathon, 10K/5K Race)

This race, the highest paved marathon in the world and one of the most scenic on a USATF certified course, was named “Best Weekend Getaway Race in 2006 in a Colorado Runner Magazine poll. All four races start and end in Estes Park at the public school facilities (elevation 7,550 feet) and take place on paved, certified courses. There is no race-day registration for the marathon or the half marathon. There will be race-day registration only for the 10K and 5K races. The marathon and half-marathon usually start at 7 a.m., the 10K takes off at 8 a.m. and the 5K race starts at 9 a.m. team@epmarathon.org; Check date and time at  www.estesparkmarathon.org

 

Annual Wool Market

The annual Estes Park Wool Market will be held June 12th  through June 15th, 2008. This fiber festival in the Rockies begins with two days of workshops and seminars on Thursday the 12th and Friday the13th.  You must pre-register for these workshops.  Wool Market booklets will be available in mid-February. Rocky Mountain Classic Miniature Horse Show

June / July. Small horses – miniatures cannot exceed 34 inches high – compete in a variety of equine challenges, including harness, pleasure riding, and obstacle course performance. Scandinavian Midsummer Festival

June and July. Come celebrate the summer solstice in the Scandinavian tradition from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm Saturday and Sunday. Opening ceremony with a procession of national flags and a parade of costumes. On Saturday the activities at Bond Park include a colorful opening ceremony, parade of national flags, and no-stop performances from Scandinavian dance and folk groups. Fireworks over Lake Estes

July 4 — The Fireworks in Estes Park are the 5th largest in Colorado! Activities start at dusk, usually between 9:30 and 9:45 on the North Shore of Estes Park Lake. Excellent viewing from anywhere around the lake. The Estes Park Firework display has become so popular with people from Denver to Fort Collins, that it can take from two to three time as long to get back to their homes in the front range. Rooftop Rodeo

Saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie down roping, bareback bronc riding, barrel racing and bull riding are among the PRCA sanctioned events that will entertain and astonish each evening's audience. Annual Yoga Journal Conference

September. More than 100 classes, all levels and styles taught by notables. Day passes are available for Friday and Saturday. Catch the Glow Christmas Parade
